An Inspirational Evening At The Royal Albert Hall.

On Monday 7th November, twenty five of our Year Six pupils {plus five very lucky members of staff} went to see the first night of The School Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

What an exciting night we were set to have. All the performers were under the age of twenty one. We were amazed at the range of musical genres we listened to that night- from Jazz to Klezmer music, from Classical to folk. The atmosphere was electric.

One of the highlights of the evening was when two brothers ‘The Lovell- Jones brothers from Cardiff played two pieces –‘Prelude from Sonata for Four Hands’ by Poulenc and ‘Slavonic Dance No 8’ by Dvorak. They played so fast and so furiously it was incredible! They were a true inspiration for all our musicians especially our piano players.

The night proved to be an exciting and inspiring evening for all of us.
