Dear Parents and Carers,
Well I’m pleased to say that we have made it to the end of the term in good spirits and more than a sprinkle of Christmas cheer. This term is always one of my favourites, as so much happens in the four months that we are in school. I have been bowled over by some of the teaching and learning I have seen recently, particularly in the wider curriculum (music, sport, art, history etc). I have also been very humbled by the generosity of the staff and the hard work they put into planning amazing opportunities for the children…the list is almost endless. None of this, of course, is really possible without the support and commitment from you, the parents. Without you, we would not be able to achieve half as much, so I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you do for your children and the school as a whole, I can assure you, it does make a difference.
Over the past week we have seen a series of performances from our talented children. The singing has been truly fantastic, with the choice of songs hitting the right note on every level. You can’t beat a bit of ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ by Shakin’ Stevens in my opinion…
I think it is also worth mentioning the wonderful Christmas Fair and the heroic effort made by the TSA. The stalls, entertainment and overall atmosphere easily equalled an Austrian Christmas market and raised huge amounts of money (approximately £2500). This money will go towards supporting the curriculum and make a significant difference to the children’s learning experiences. A big thank you to Sarah, Becky and their team for pushing the boat out this year and making the event so special.
So may I take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and restful Christmas and a sparkly start to 2019!
